Entry is forbidden to visitors, however, the views of Santorini Island extend forever and photos are a must. Continue to Pyrgos to begin a leisurely stroll along the ascending avenues that wind past the lovely old homes of this hilltop village.

Visit the remains of a Venetian fortress that harken back to the days when Pyrgos was the capital of Santorini. Make your way to a local tavern and sit down to a selection of favorite island dishes. Mark is an intrepid city explorer and will unlock for you the backstreets and colorful alleyways of Colombo to showcase a vibrant and historical journey through the city. The Pettah District is one of the oldest regions in Colombo and is a hive of activity. Take in the incredible bazaars, explore hidden architectural treasures, and see the Dutch colonial mansions of the spice era.

Then, proceed to the commercial hub of Colombo Fort and enjoy a refreshing drink at the Grand Oriental Hotel, where you will have the opportunity to ask Mark any questions you will have regarding this wonderful city. Your walk will come to an end at another colonial gem—the Old Dutch Hospital complex. Once a functioning hospital during the 17th century, it is now host to high-end restaurants, bars and shops.
