OverviewHide
Explore Japan's beauty by air, water, and land. Your adventure begins with a ride on the scenic aerial tram that will take you to the summit of Mt. Hakkoda. From the summit, view the swamps and marshes shaped by volcanic eruptions that took place over one million years ago. Next, travel past the stunning Oirase Stream, viewing the area's breathtaking cascading waterfall. Pass under a forest of cedar, beech, and maple trees. Then, you'll sit down to a delicious Japanese lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, stroll to Lake Towada. This lake was formed by volcanic eruptions that took place 55,000 years ago. It sits atop an active volcano and is the third deepest in Japan. The last eruption that took place here occurred in 915 A.D. Admire the lake's breathtaking blue color on a scenic boat ride over this magnificent natural wonder.
